Abdul Malek Md Noor added glamour into bodybuilding. Besides his popularity as Malaysia’s top bodybuilder, he also was an actor, host of a TV program and a singer. His first album was titled “Sentuhan Malek Noor”.

Malek, who was born on 13 November 1954 in Pontian, Johor, won the Mr. Asia in the heavyweight category (6 times), Mr. Malaysia (6 times) and Mr. Asean International (4 times). He also competed twice in the Mr. Universe competition but failed to win any medals

In 1985, Malek won the Sportsman of the Year award and the Gold Benson & Hedges Sports Personality Award. A year later he was honored with the Ahli Mangku Negara (AMN) and Pingat Ibrahim Sultan (PIS).

Malek studied at the Sekolah Kebangsaan Sri Gading and Sekolah Menengah Datuk Bentara Luar – both in Batu Pahat, Johor before doing courses in Community College, Colorado, University of Denver and the Physical and Nutrition College in Canada.
